I ordered the hardtop stand from Special vehicle Services two weeks ago for my Mercedes R129 SL500 (Panoramic Roof), in readiness for hardtop removal in time for the Easter break. Although I reside in the Scottish Borders the hardtop stand was delivered the very next day in line with the excellent service I am coming to expect from SVS.

The stand is a very well engineered piece of kit. It only takes a matter of minutes to assemble (without the need for any tools) and immediately supports an air of confidence in its ability to safely hold the R129 Panoramic Roof which must be one of the heaviest roofs around. The stand comes complete with two braked wheels which keep the stand perfectly still whilst the hardtop is placed on board. With the hardtop on board the stand wheels easily on a concrete garage floor to and from its storage position.

For those owners who require to transport the stand to car events and shows it looks like the stand (when unassembled) will fit into the R129.s boot which I imagine would be a distinct bonus. Overall an enxcellent piece of kit.
