In burr walnut, this is the 'bayonet' style gearlever for June 1994 onwards R129 models - where the gearknob detaches by unscrewing the black plastic collar at the bottom and allows it to be literally pulled off vertically, leaving the chrome shaft behind. Our replacement in burr walnut has a chrome collar at the base with a firmer more secure fitment and finer thread to attach.
